Mad Mike's Bloody Mary Vodka Cream Pasta with Sicilian Sausage

Try this delicious take on a Vodka Cream Pasta made with Mad Mike's Sicilian Sausage

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon Mad Mike’s Meyers Lemon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 1 pound sliced Mad Mike’s Fully Cooked Sicilian or Garlic Chicken Sausage
- 1 cup vodka
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 1 can drained diced tomatoes (28 ounces)
- 1 cup “Chucks” Bloody Mary Mix
- 1 (16 oz). jar Mad Mike’s Spicy Sicilian Pasta Sauce
- Coarse salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon of Mad Mike’s Yo’ Mama’s Garlic Seasoning
- 16 ounces penne or rigatoni pasta
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 10 leaves fresh basil, stacked, rolled and sliced thin (Chiffonade) 10 more for garnish
- Freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano (Parmesan)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over moderate heat. Add oil, butter, sliced sausage and onion. Gently sauté onion and sausage for 3 to 5 minutes until onion is soft and golden. Add garlic until fragrant about 30 seconds. Add vodka to the pan, reduce vodka by half, this will take 3 or 4 minutes. Add chicken stock, tomatoes, Mad Mike’s Sicilian Pasta Sauce and Chucks Bloody Mary Mix. Bring sauce to a bubble and reduce heat to simmer. Season with Yo’ Mama’s Garlic Seasoning, salt and pepper.
- While sauce simmers, approximately 20 minutes, cook pasta in salted boiling water until cooked to al dente. While pasta cooks and your sauce simmers, it may be a good time to prepare your salad or other side dishes.
- Stir cream into sauce. When sauce returns to a bubble, simmer for five more minutes remove it from heat. Drain pasta. Toss hot pasta with sauce and basil leaves. Serve in pasta bowl or plate. Add Parmesan to taste. Garnish each bowl with Basil leaf
